MoveOn to Democratic Party: 'We Own It'

WASHINGTON - Liberal powerhouse MoveOn has a message for the "professional election losers" who run the Democratic Party: "We bought it, we own it, we're going to take it back."

A scathing e-mail from the head of MoveOn's political action committee to the group's supporters on Thursday targets outgoing Democratic National Committee (news - web sites) chairman Terry McAuliffe as a tool of corporate donors who alienated both traditional and progressive Democrats.

"For years, the party has been led by elite Washington insiders who are closer to corporate lobbyists than they are to the Democratic base," said the e-mail from MoveOn PAC's Eli Pariser. "But we can't afford four more years of leadership by a consulting class of professional election losers." (Story continues)

We have these little fuckers right where we want them, and no, I'm not ashamed to say it. The Washington elite has been replaced with the Marin, CA elite - sure to be a marketing faux pas for the Democratic Party. Nothing like a group of spoiled San Francisco liberals to spread the fostering tone of the DNC to red states.

So, enough with this ;) Of course, I'm good for trolling The Daily Kos for some shameless promotion of this blog. I predict some entertaining comments having to do with sucking O'reilly's dick. Though I'll warn in advance - the last person to suck Bill O'reilly's dick was a fledging bitter liberal with a knack for asking for cash the morning after.

Tomorrow we'll try and equate the internment of 150,000 Japanese civilians to 600 Arab militants. I'm giving you a head start because you'll need it...

While commenting a U.S. Senate race in 2006 between Rhode Islanders, Representative James Langevin and Senator Lincoln Chafee, Moulitsas Zúniga drops this gem:

Switch or die. I'd rather we didn't have to spend the money to take out Chafee if we could get him to switch. But if we must take him out, we will.

Goddamn, I love the fostering tone of the Democratic party.

Never in the history of mankind has a man who looks like this ever been noted as taking anything out.

Ms. Spellings said that Senator Orrin G. Hatch had invited her to Utah and she expressed eagerness to visit there. "These are Republicans," she said. "These are our people."

In a statement by Terry McAuliffe, published on the DNC website, he said:

"And I am always aware that the praise for the remarkable progress our Party has made is really aimed at people like you - those who have stood by the Democratic Party through thick and thin."

This is the same exclusionary tone to me.

Another missile defense failure

Didn't Bush say something about cutting government programs that don't work ?
President Bush's planned ballistic missile shield suffered another setback on Monday when an interceptor missile again failed to launch during a test of the U.S. missile defense system.

The Pentagon's Missile Defense Agency said it could not complete the planned $85 million repeat of a failed December test after the interceptor missile failed to launch from its base in the Pacific Ocean.
To be clear -- they can't even get the darn missile to launch. $8.8 billion will be spent on the program in 2006.

My Response:

So are we happy Bush failed, or that a plausible method for defending the country has been foiled?

Just wanting to follow the party line.
